October

Hey friends! October has been a scary month for me. I have wanted to be a writer ever since I can remember. When I was a young teen, I felt a deep connection to the written word. I memorized Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18 and since that moment have wanted to pour my heart out on paper. Or a computer screen…either way 🙂 This month I decided to try and make that dream come true. I have so many things to share with y’all, so many feelings, experiences, truths, recipes, tips, tricks, laughs…all the things. This blog is my shot at pouring out my heart and mind and hoping that at least one of you can connect with me, take something away from it and maybe even share something with me.

I started writing a few weeks ago and if I’m being 100% honest with you (and I always will be), I’m scared. Scared that y’all won’t feel where I’m coming from. Won’t enjoy the content I have to share. Scared that my writing is terrible. Scared that my long time dream will fade slowly into the dark and never really come true. I was scared to publish my first post. I had it sitting in my drafts for a couple weeks before I finally mustered up the courage to hit that insanely intimidating “Publish” button. To take my carefully guarded private life and plaster it all over the internet really shook me. Still does. I’ve worked hard to keep my life just mine and not every one else’s. But, here I am…hoping with every fiber of my being that this won’t be a mistake.

I want this page to have consistency, something you can always count on. That’s why I decided to do a monthly favorite. Every month I hope to share an oil with you that I consider essential…see what I did there?! 😉 So, for the month of October I decided that Valor would be that oil. Oh Valor…my faithful, trusty friend. Let me tell you about this powerful oil…

Valor. Is. Incredible. Please Google it if you don’t believe me after this. Medical Professionals have used it on patients with nerve issues and…well, just look it up…it is mind blowing! This blend contains Black Spruce, Blue Tansy, Frankincense and Geranium. Together this blend promotes courage and calm. I have reached for this oil almost every day this month. I needed the extra courage and calm spirit to finally publish my thoughts. To open the door and let you into this crazy world of mine.

To use Valor I usually roll or drop it on my wrist and warm it by rubbing them together and revel in its aroma. I also roll or drop it into my palm, rub them together and then cup them over my face and take three deep breaths. You can also do this with kiddos when they feel overwhelmed or anxious.

Let’s take it one oil at a time…

  • Black Spruce: grounds the body and creates balance. Can also help release emotional blocks.
  • Blue Tansy: calming and can help rid anger from the body. Promotes a feeling of self-control.
  • Frankincense: helps oxygenate the body and promotes a positive attitude.
  • Geranium: helps regenerate nerves and detoxifies liver to promote balance.

Y’all…this blend is insane. First of all it smells like a dream. Many people use it daily as perfume which is a much healthier alternative to artificial fragrances. Second of all, the minute you put this oil on and take a couple of deep breaths, you start to feel the calm wash over you. This is when the courage comes into play. Once you feel calm, you feel as though you can handle anything. It’s anxiety that usually makes us feel like we can’t keep moving forward. Knowing this oil supports me emotionally is huge. We all need support from time to time, especially when we are feeling overwhelmed or scared. Next time you have a big presentation, a job interview, your kiddos come home with some big feelings…try Valor. I know you will love as much as I do.

Let us know how October’s favorite oil has helped you!
